Best Comedy: Phoenix Comicon!

Today we’ve got all sorts of great news! For starters, Rigamortis: A Zombie Love Story received the award for Best Comedy at the Phoenix Comicon Film Festival this weekend! Yaaaay!!! (You should be clapping, why aren’t you clapping?) A very big thank you to everyone at Phoenix Comicon for putting together a great event and everyone who attended for being so awesome!

For you Midwesterners who couldn’t make it to Phoenix, don’t fret! We just received word that Rigamortis has been selected to screen at the GenCon Film Festival in Indianapolis (the con takes place August 4-7). Clearly the fine folks over at GenCon know that a weekend of geekery is more fun with just a dash of singing and dancing zombies! We don’t have specific details for you just yet, but as soon as the festival schedule is released we’ll be sure to let you know!

We’ve got something special for our West Coast friends as well! Rigamortis: A Zombie Love Story will be having it’s Los Angeles premiere screening Tuesday, June 7th, 7:00pm at Busby’s East “Mile High Club”. The screening is completely free, so if you’re in the area, come on out and watch the zombie musical sensation that’s sweeping the nation! Co-Director Ted Campbell, stars Maxwell Glick, Boston Stergis and composer / lyricist Greg Szydlowski will be on hand for a Q&A after screening, and I just know you want to eat pick their brains!

Finally, because our “Nom Nom Nombie” button has been such a hit, we’ve made it a t-shirt! In fact, I’ve been informed it’s technically multiple t-shirts, as it’s available in kids and womens sizes as well. As if that weren’t enough, we put it on a baby bib also, because if anything can make your little guy/girl cuter, it’s this! Come on, admit it… if that’s not the cutest little zombie ever to munch on a human skull, I don’t know what is! (Somebody reddit this thing already!)

TRAILER: Rigamortis: A Zombie Love Story

As much as I try to rip on ‘intelligent’ zombies at every chance I can get I’m going to have to admit this looks like it could be entertaining. Zombie musicals are either absolutely hilarious or just painful to watch and this appears to fall into the first category. While of course we won’t know for sure until we have a chance to see it I’m hoping it proves to be as entertaining as the trailer promises!

Phoenix Comicon!

Rigamortis goes to Phoenix!

Because we here at Rigamortis headquarters take Memorial Day seriously, we’ve decided it’s simply not enough to have just one screening that weekend, so instead we’re having two! We’re proud to announce that Rigamortis: A Zombie Love Story has been selected to screen at the Phoenix Comicon Film Festival on Saturday, May 28th at 9:31 PM. As an added bonus, we’ve also been selected as one of just six films to receive an encore screening which will take place at 2:41PM on Sunday, May 29th!

So, if you’re a resident of our fine country’s scenic southwest, but didn’t want to drive all the way to Houston, then head on over to the Phoenix Comicon and check us out (it’s just 300 miles from Los Angeles!) And if that’s not enough to convince you, the con will also be attended by various celebs and artistic masters such as Stan Lee, Leonard Nimoy, Wil Wheaton and the folks at Hammer Improv just to name a few… so that’s pretty cool too.

A few of the main Rigamortis crew (Dave, Jenny, Matt & Greg) will be in attendance, so make sure to stop by and say hi!

We look forward to seeing you out there and may all your zombies be… danciful?!?
